We compile this information to make your computer ready to write articles in Unicode Nepali. This may be helpful if you get problem writing articles in Unicode. To make your computer Unicode ready, follow the steps below:
1) Visit Madan Puraskar website

3) Assuming you are using windows/xp (Microsoft) as an operating system follow below steps to install nepali unicode:
- Run set up file that you have downloaded.
- Go to control Panel;
- Open Regional and Language settings;
- Click on Language tabs
- In the Supplemental language support, check box Install files for complex script and right to left languages (including Thai) and install files for east asian language
- click apply-it ask’s for windows cd:
- insert cd or you can directly copy “i386″ files from this folder too;
- and install all:then you have done;
- Click on details;
- then click add tab;
- new popup will appear:
- select “sanskrit†in first box;
- & select “nepali unicode(romanized)†in second box;
- click “okâ€;
- you have successfully installed it;
- press “alt+shift†once to type in nepali;
- and press “alt+shift†once to type in english;
- ———Now enjoy,You’ll able to type nepali very easily in microsoft word or in email or in notepad or in any websites, anywhere you wish——–
4) From now you can see any Nepali site in “Nepali language†in your browser. I think you have only seen “boxes†in your browser when you click on any Nepali article, but after installation of romanized Unicode you’ll get better experience.
5) And from now, you can easily read Nepali in any browser.
In some cases if your browser encoding is not set to Unicode (UTF-8) you will be unable to see Nepali font. To over come this you may need to change some settings in your Internet Explorer or Firefox whichever browser you are using. Please follow below steps to check the settings in your browser:
Internet Explorer:
1) In the Menu bar click on View
2) In the drop down menu click Encoding
3) In the list make sure it is selected Unicode (UTF-8)
Firefox:
1) In the Menu bar click on View
2) In the drop down menu click Character Encoding
3) In the list make sure it is selected Unicode (UTF-8).
You may need to look on same settings in Safari and Google Chrome.
